The Lord Mayor of Bristol, Alastair Watson, held a ceremony at the Bristol Mansion House on 26th March to celebrate the naming of one of the A400M Atlas aircraft “The City of Bristol”. The wings of the Atlas are made in Filton Bristol by AirBus, the RAF have ordered a further 21 aircraft. Guests included employees and associates of AirBus, dignitaries of Bristol, and RAF officers including the pilot from RAF Brize Norton. To help the evening succeed the cadets from Bristol & Gloucestershire Wing were asked to assist with a guard of honour and serving the guests with refreshments. They performed well and were complemented on their duties that evening by the Lord Mayor and AirBus. The cadets could not resist a photo with “Johnny” Johnson Sqn Ldr (Ret) who was also a guest.
