Air Cadets New Wheels
After several years of fund raising and generous donations the Bishops Cleeve Air Cadet Squadron has been rewarded with a brand new minibus. Replacing a worn out vehicle, the new one will mean the cadets will have reliable and safe transport to the camps, activities and events that fill their annual programme. Donations included £5000 from the Tewkesbury Borough Community Safety Partnership, £3000 from the Parish Council and significant contributions from G R Lane Health Products and Spirax Sarco. The cadets themselves worked hard to get donations at public events and bag packing at Asda and Tesco to help reach the necessary target. Mike Ralls, Civilian Committee Chairman, praised their efforts: “Our cadets have worked hard to raise significant funds towards this project - an important part of their development. It means that the generosity of the councils and others that have helped them is in no way taken for granted. They will appreciate it every time this bus takes them on their next adventure.”
